Dr. Jack Kirnan

Executive, Career, and Leadership Coach | Certified Grief and Bereavement Educator | Trustee and Advisory Board Member

Dr. Jack Kirnan is a Certified Executive, Career, Life, and Spiritual Coach who brings over 35 years of professional and academic experience to his practice at Kirnan Coaching Associates, LLC. An economist and financial analyst by training, he spent the first 15 years of his career in the Financial Services sector as a top-ranked automotive financial analyst at Kidder Peabody & Company and Salomon Brothers, receiving 10 citations in Institutional Investor Magazine’s Ranking of Best Wall Street Analysts and was also recognized 6 times as a top stock picker in the Wall Street Journal’s Annual Stock Picking Survey. 

He transitioned to a senior management role at Credit Suisse First Boston as the firm’s Director of U.S. Equity Research, managing a department of more than 400 analysts and associates and led the firm to top-tier rankings in both the Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates annual surveys for best research. Following his successful career on Wall Street, Jack transitioned to higher education, serving in a variety of leadership roles at Rutgers University as the Director of MBA Programs, as the Dean of the School of Business at The College of New Jersey, and then as Dean of the Business School at Holy Family University

Jack and his wife Jean have been married for 43 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren. They are long-time parishioners of St. Catharine – St. Margaret Parish in Spring Lake, where Jack currently serves as a Trustee, a member of its Finance Committee, a Eucharistic Minister, and as the former President of the Parish Pastoral Council.  He is also a formally trained Pastoral Care Minister and leads their Parish Bereavement Program with certifications from both the Diocese of Trenton and Diocese of Newark and is a Certified Grief Educator with David Kessler Inc. and Grief.com. Jack is currently a Trustee of Loyola Jesuit Center in Morristown, NJ where he is the Chair of its Strategic Planning Committee and has also been an active supporter of Catholic Charities serving on its Board of Trustees from 2014 until June 2022 as the Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee.

Jack holds a Ph.D. and MA in Economics from Fordham University and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Seton Hall University. He also earned professional Certifications in Executive and Life Coaching from New York University, in Career Coaching from GetFive (a leading provider in Career Management solutions), and in Executive Coaching from the highly acclaimed Center for Executive Coaching (CEC)
